Happy new year! I cannot believe how fast 2013 went for me. Honestly, thank goodness it did because year 12 was a hell of bloody grade, especially in a new state. Since I haven't updated my blog with what's happening lately (because I've been a silly and unorganized wannabe blogger), I'll post a catch up post soon. Although 2013 was a difficult year it did have some unforgettable moments. Travelling to Europe will forever be remembered as the most surreal experience of my life. I mean like everything that looked remotely European had to be either photographed, touched or bought. 2013 also allowed me to meet so many great people that helped me grow into a better person.
So, as the title may suggest, I've decided to note down my new years resolutions and goals of 2014. I think it's important for me to do this to allow myself to see what I want to impsrove or begin clearly, rather than taking a mental note of a goal which is easily breakable. Nevertheless, these are some small and some difficult goals;
Improve my writing
As you can probably tell my blogging language isn't as fabulous as others. I feel as though since I've completed high school I'm stuck in a habit of writing in essay format. My vocabulary and structure is boring, let's face it. I think this is one of my major obstacles with blogging. I feel that whenever I pick up my laptop to type something it comes out completely opposite of what I want, and it usually makes me sound sarcastic and pretentious. It's all so bloody serious like omg. So over the next year please keep in mind if my posts sound odd or over the top it's probably because I'm either more comfortable with writing here or I'm trying out a few techniques. LONG STORY SHORT: PLEASE CONTINUE TO LOVE ME.
Improve my blog
As well as changing my writing, I would like to post more frequently. Despite that this blog is really only for my viewing and for personal benefits I'd love to have the skill of being organized and dedicated to something that isn't essential. I suppose I'm thinking of maybe putting up 2 posts per week, just to see if I can commit. I guess we'll see what happens!
Change my eating and exercise habits
Yes, it's cliché. Although, the longer I leave it the harder it will be later on. I suppose I just don't want to regret it later on. All I'm aiming for is to replace chocolate splurges to fruit cravings. I just hate eating so much junk without balancing it out with healthy Stuff! So much Guilt! Also, I'm planning on going on more frequent runs around the lake, maybe have a good ish body for my 18th birthday in May. I found this recipe which I wouldn't mind trying. I've made other smoothies on this website and their great, i encourage you to check them out!
Be happier
Yes. I went there. Everyone aims for this obviously but I want to take it on a new level for myself. I want to change the way I process my thoughts. I have no idea how to do this.Seriously. I'll let you know how later when I figure it out!
Organise my year and events
This may be a small and unnecessary goal to commit to, but I feel that this would be helpful to have a visual of the year. For Christmas I received this Lorna Jane Diary (pictured below) which is great to maintain my motivation since it has so many inspiring quotes and tips. I really recommend this product! I'm also planning to purchase a blank journal or notebook to record my 2014 experiences. Typo and Kikki K are probably my favourite stationary stores, below are some that I'm considering! :3
1. Lorna Jane 2014 Diary $39
2. Bambi pack of 5 notebooks $9.95
3. Celebrate Today Pack of 3 notebooks $11.90
4. 365 Days Dreaming journal $21
5. Eat Icecream For Breakfast notebook $6.95
6. Dumbo notebook $6.95
I hope this post hasn't been too boring! I'd love it if you all make a list yourselves, even if you don't commit to them completely it may help you see what you want to improve on over a long period of time, rather than just a year. I dont know what I'm really talking about. ANYWAY, I know this year will be full of change and fab moments, I can really feel it. I'm just so excited to see what happens.
I hope each and every one of you has an exciting and cheerful year,
Peace on the streets,
Lola xx
